From Alderman Pawar’s May 11, 2012 Newsletter:
I am excited to announce that the 47th Ward’s Clark Park will be home to Chicago’s first Illinois High School Association (IHSA) playoff regulation baseball stadium! Developing this project and getting it through City Council has been a major priority of my first year in office. Last May, my office convened a meeting of all entities involved: Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Cubs, Kerry and Sarah Wood Foundation, DeVry University, Chicago Park District and the Clark Park Advisory Council. After a series of meetings, and a year of work and negotiations, we are finally moving forward to break ground on our baseball stadium. On Wednesday, this project passed City Council!
